How do you automate your creative process? Is it even possible?

I think about this all the time. Probably on some level daily.

Throughout my creative life, it’s a constant alternating current of creative floods and inspiration droughts. As I get older, I’ve become more aware of which season I happen to be swimming (or wading) through at the moment.

For me, 2018 has been mostly a dry season creatively. Throughout this year, though, I’ve scrutinized my own creativity and the processes that go along with it: inspiration, influences, discipline, retention, organization, and so many other things I never really noticed which affect the bigger mechanism of transforming thoughts and ideas into fully formed, well-executed things.

Revamping my website — shit, even this very blog post — are some of the ways I’m trying to build good habits of creating while not feeling terribly inspired.

We’ll see how this goes. As long as it keeps going.

Goodbye, 2018.

We made it. Here’s to the next year of cool shit. I’ve got projects X, Y, and Z in the works. If you haven’t yet, subscribe to my mailing list to stay updated on all things ADV: new music, new videos, merch releases and deals, and maybe some giveaways!
